The timing belt is a consumable part. If it breaks, the camshaft will no longer run in the normal timing pattern. This force lifts the air intake valve, allowing the atomized gasoline to enter the cylinder. When the exhaust valve is lifted, the exhaust is drained out of the cylinder.
When the sunken part (instead of the protruding part) of the camshaft contacts the small rocker arm, both the air intake valve and the exhaust valve are closed. A compression ratio is generated, and distributor ignition starts. The internal combustion process is initiated to provide power.
