Working principle of heater switch:
Heater switch is the switch for the heaters on a car.
The radiator in a heater is connected via inlet/outlet pipes to the engine water circulation system, and the water valve serves as a switch. When the valve is opened, the water circuit will be switched on, allowing the engine circulating water to enter the radiator. Heat is dissipated out of the driver’s cab by the fan. If the valve is closed, the heater will not work.
Heater switch maintenance tips:
- If it’s not cold, the heater water valve may be closed to achieve isolation between the engine cooling system and the heater switch.
- In cold winter days, before use of the heating system, check for any abnormal conditions of the left and right air supply pipes and water supply & drainage pipes such as loosening, fall-off, or breaking.
- Check if the heating system exhibits any unusual vibration and if the pipes show any sign of leakage. Check normal level of the drain tank and normal working condition of the drain pump.
- The water temperature of the engine should be preferably controlled below 90℃ in order to guarantee best performance of the heaters.
